Snapshot technology based solutions we offer help our customers in –

•

It vastly improves the frequency and reliability of backups, since they incur minimal performance overhead and can be safely created on a running system.

•

Snapshots can be created on low-cost ATA drives residing on the same system which hosts the production data on high performance fibre disks.

•

Our solutions offer near-instantaneous, secure, user-managed restores. Users can directly access snapshot copies to recover from accidental deletions, corruptions or modifications to the data.

•

Incremental Snapshots could be created to minimize the disk space requirement.

•

Offering multiple recovery points without impacting the production data.

•

Accelerated application recovery – instant recovery from Copies created by snapshots.

•

Full integration with Exchange and SQL databases.

•

Easy to control and manage through a web based management software.

Snapshot Technology

At the highest level, a snapshot is defined as a locally retained point-in-time copy of data.

Snapshot is the latest technology used for instant backups and restores. A snapshot is a virtual copy of the production data which is actually dependent on the production data. In most cases, it is a mirror of the production data.

Instant snapshots can be created in a few seconds irrespective of the data volume. These snapshots could be complete copy of the production data or just point-in-time pointers to the production data.

At the time of recovery, a copy of data from the snapshot could be used back as the production data. The snapshot data created could be used for backups, as well as testing or analysis purposes also.

Snapshots offer more stability, scalability, recoverability and performance. In various forms, Snapshot technology is used as a foundation for developing Data Protection Solutions.
